Roster breakdown

Rutgers built this roster almost entirely through high school recruiting — just 3 transfers (all non-FBS), compared to our 26 — so this is a developmental, homegrown program carrying zero P4/G5 portal investment. The talent ceiling matches ours on paper (both 16% blue-chip, 3.16★ vs. our 3.18★), but the roster skews significantly older with 60% upperclassmen against our 40%, and that age bill comes due: 36% of the roster exits after this season as SR/GR. On the field, their offense returns strong in the run game (83% rush production back) but is essentially rebuilding the passing game from scratch at 3% returning pass production, while our 95% makes that a real schematic mismatch at the point of attack. DMV angle worth flagging: 9 of their guys are hometown — Carter, Humes, Allen, Murray, Hayer, Blackston among them — so this one has some recruiting-rivalry subtext even if those kids chose to go north.
