Roster breakdown

UCLA built this roster almost entirely through high school recruiting — zero transfers in a 114-man room that is 52% upperclassmen — which is a fundamentally different construction model than the 26-transfer, 40%-upperclass roster we're running. The talent gap is real: they matched 28% blue-chip at a 3.29-star average against our 16% and 3.18, and their OL averages 320 lbs to our 311, though their DL at 267 lbs is notably lighter than our 289. Returning production is comparable to ours on offense — 88% pass, 70% rush — but that 28% SR/GR cliff after 2025 means a meaningful chunk of that experienced core walks, and with no transfer infrastructure apparent, their replenishment path looks slow. DMV angle is real but shallow: Ellis, West, Lovett, Sweazie, and Gobaira are all on their roster, five guys from our backyard we'd want intel on if any enter the portal when that cliff hits.
